Admission is free for members of the Städelverein and the Städelclub.
For members of the Städelverein and the Städelclub, admission to the permanent exhibition and all special exhibitions of the Städel Museum and Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung is free of charge at all times, without queuing.

Tickets are available online and at the ticket counter. The tickets are valid for a one-time entry for the date and time stated on the ticket. The online ticket can be printed or scanned from the display of a smartphone as a mobile ticket. We regret that it is not possible to exchange or return an online ticket.

Admission is free for children under the age of 12. Children and youths under 18 years of age are admitted free of charge when accompanied by at least one (related) adult with a valid online ticket, to be presented at the ticket counter. Please have a photo ID or student ID ready.

The MuseumsuferCard is valid at the Städel Museum for visits to the permanent exhibition and temporary special exhibitions from the museum’s own holdings, for the Städel Rooftop, as well as for a diverse programme of guided tours and workshops. You can visit the current special exhibitions “Fantasy and Passion. Drawing from Carracci to Bernini” (10 October 2024 – 12 January 2025) and “Rineke Dijkstra. Beach Portraits” (13 Dec 2024 – 18 May 2025). You can also look forward to the upcoming special exhibitions “Frankfurt forever! Photographs by Carl Friedrich Mylius” (12 February 2025 – 1 June 2025), “Uncensored. Annegret Soltau—A Retrospective” (8 May 2025 – 17 August 2025), “Werner Tübke. Metamorphoses” (2 July 2025 – 28 September 2025) and “Asta Gröting” (5 September 2025 – 12 April 2026).
Major special exhibitions with international loans, such as “Rembrandt’s Amsterdam: Golden Times?” (27 November 2024 – 23 March 2025), “Carl Schuch and France” (24 September 2025 – 1 February 2026), “Beckmann” (3 December 2025 – 15 March 2026) and “Monet on the Normandy Coast. The Discovery of Étretat” (19 March 2026 – 5 July 2026) are excluded from this offer. We recommend our Tuesday Special for visiting these exhibitions.
Preferential admission and special events are not part of the offer. The card is not transferable and is only valid in conjunction with a valid photo ID. Please note the guidelines for the MuseumsuferCard.
For members of the Städelverein and the Städelclub, admission to the permanent exhibition and all special exhibitions is free of charge at all times. Prior registration ist not necessary.

Gift certificates for €20, €30, and €50 are available at the Städel Museum at the ticket counter and in the museum shop. At the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung, they can be purchased at the ticket counter, in the café, and in the Liebieghaus online shop. Gift certificates can be redeemed for a visit to the Städel Museum and the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung. They can also be used for purchases in the museum shops of the Städel Museum and the Liebieghaus, in the Liebieghaus online shop, and in the Liebieghaus café. Gift certificates are not redeemable in the Städel online shop. Gift certificates are valid for three years from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated on the certificate/voucher (regular limitation period according to § 195 BGB).

Please note that there is no special parking for museum visitors directly at the museum. We therefore recommend that you use the nearby multi-storey car parks.
Parking for cars
Multi-storey car parks are located within walking distance of approximately 10 minutes from the museum. Names and addresses:

Parking for coaches
Reservations for coach parking are not possible. The following coach parks are located in the vicinity of the Städel Museum: map
There is a lift at the main entrance of the Städel Museum (Schaumainkai 63) for visitors with limited mobility and visitors with prams or pushchairs.
All floors of the Städel Museum are accessible via a lift, which has wide doors and low controls for wheelchair users. One toilet on the first floor (1. OG) and one in the basement of the exhibition building (UG) is barrier-free. There are sufficient seating possibilities on all floors and in the exhibition rooms. A wheelchair or wheeled walker can be borrowed from the cloakroom.
For safety reasons, we reserve the right to regulate access to the exhibition galleries with prams/pushchairs if necessary (e.g., in cases of high visitor volume). The museum offers space for parking prams/pushchairs.
Visitors with a degree of disability of 50% or more are entitled to a reduced admission fee. If a “B” has been entered in the disability pass, admission is free for one accompanying person. In this case, please request tickets for guided tours via the contact form.
Public disabled parking spaces can be found on Holbeinstraße at the corner of Schaumainkai.

The use of the cloakroom at the Städel Museum is free of charge. The cloakroom is located to the back right of the main foyer area. Jackets, bags (larger than DIN A4), knapsacks, umbrellas, and large articles that may not be taken into the exhibition must be checked in. Due to space restrictions, it is not possible to check suitcases or trolleys. A €1 coin is needed to use a locker.
We accept no liability for items checked in at the cloakroom or left in lockers.
Städel Café
Our self-service café is located adjacent to the museum shop. In addition to coffee and tea specialties, we offer a seasonal selection of sandwiches, salads, cakes, and cookies.
Holbein’s Café-Restaurant
Directly adjacent to the Städel Museum, the multi-award-winning café/restaurant “Holbein’s” awaits your visit. Enjoy light cuisine with regional and international influences in a special atmosphere.
Café im Liebieghaus
A special tip from those in the know: just a few steps away from the museum is the Café im Liebieghaus, where you can enjoy home-made cakes and other small delicacies.
Visit our museum shop and be inspired by selected stationery, accessories, jewellery and books to give as gifts. Browse through our exhibition catalogues and discover our wide range of art cards.
The adjoining self-service café, with a view of the Frankfurt skyline, serves coffee and tea specialties as well as a seasonal range of cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and salads.
Open on Sundays and public holidays. The shop and café are open to visitors without a museum ticket.
Access to the Städel Rooftop is included in the admission fee of the Städel Museum. It is accessible via the Old Masters galleries in the permanent exhibition. Spiral staircases lead to and from the Städel Rooftop. Please note that access is unfortunately not suitable for visitors with restricted mobility. There is no barrier-free access to the Städel Rooftop.
Seating is available throughout the museum and in the special exhibition. Folding stools are only available for use in the permanent exhibition and are unfortunately not permitted in the special exhibition. Wheelchairs, walking frames, and canes can be hired from the cloakroom.

Rembrandt’s Amsterdam

The use of photo cameras (without flash) for private purposes is permitted in the permanent exhibition and in the special exhibitions, unless explicitly stated otherwise for specific works. Flashes, additional lighting equipment, tripods, selfie sticks, or other devices are not permitted.
Cameras, audio and video recorders for commercial or publication purposes may only be used with the written permission of the Städel Museum. To obtain permission, please contact our press department () prior to your visit. The commercial use of photographs, audio and video recordings, as well as the use of additional lighting (flash, video lights, etc.), tripods, selfie sticks, or other equipment, requires prior permission from the Städel Museum.
If you would like to acquire images of our works of art and the rights to reproduce them, please contact our agency bpk. This image archive supplies digital data and offers a database for research.
For security reasons, bags (larger than DIN A4) and jackets must be checked in the cloakroom. In order to avoid unintended contact with the works of art, no articles of clothing may be carried over your arm in the exhibition rooms.
The consumption of food and beverages is not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Beverages may not be taken into the exhibition halls. All such items can be checked in the cloakroom.
Tours start promptly at the stated time. We recommend that you allow 15 to 30 minutes for check-in and cloakroom procedures.
If the event is not fully booked, any remaining tickets will be available at the ticket counter on the day of the event.
You can enter the museum 60 minutes before the start of the tour.
Reservations are not possible. Tickets for the respective events are available online.
The tickets that you can purchase online are not personalized. You are welcome to give online tickets as a gift. Tickets for the events are available online.
All materials required are provided by the museum unless otherwise stated and are included in the price.
Payment are to be made on the day of the event at the museum ticket counter. Please refrain from making a bank transfer.
The Städel Museum has more than 24,000 works of art in the public domain (i.e., works of art no longer under copyright protection) and has now made them available for download free of charge via the Digital Collection. These images are in the public domain and may be downloaded, edited, remixed, shared, reproduced in any format, and used for any purpose. We kindly ask to be mentioned as “Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main”. Entirely in keeping with the wishes of the museum’s founder, the aim of this service is to make the Städel collection available to the public and to promote the public enjoyment of shared cultural assets.
